Rang a 1/2
In First and Second Class, children build on the skills learned in the Infant classroom.
Some of the skills that children in this classroom would typically learn are:
-to become a more independent reader and learner
- to further develop a sense of responsibility for their actions and how to respect and relate to others
- managing and understanding feelings
- PE strands are also expanded in this room
- Children are afforded the opportunity to attend swimming lessons in a nearby swimming pool and undertake hurling training with an external coach.
Two mornings per week, the children engage in play using concrete objects such as Mechano sets, blocks, links, Play-Doh, Pegboards etc to develop oral language skills, cooperation and fine motor skills further through imaginative play.
