1973 Amalgamation Day of Celebration
On the 20th September, the children enjoyed a great day of celebrating the amalgamation of Ardane NS and Tankerstown NS. They dressed up in clothes from that era and played games on yard which would have been played during these times. Skipping, hopscotch, conkers and Red Rover were some of the games we participated in, with Red Rover becoming a firm favourite on the day!!
Lucy brought us on a nature walk around the school grounds, identifying different types of trees we have in our garden and the children also did some leaf rubbings. The old cars on display were a big hit and many wished the old style school desks could be brought back so they could slide across them! Many thanks to Mrs. Welsh, Mrs. O'Doherty and Mrs. Fahey who gave us a great demonstration on sewing and the children had their own opportunity to create a sewing piece to bring home. A great day was had by all!
