Infants' Account of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations Day
We celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the opening of this school building being opened on 20th of September 2023. The children dressed up in clothes that children would have worn when the school opened in 1973. We looked at items in the hall that would have been in schools back then and Mr. Quinlan gave a talk about these items.
Next we went out to the yard and played games that children would have played in school 50yrs ago, such as Hopscotch, Skipping, Red Rover and Conkers. We were very lucky with the beautiful weather on the day and the children loved the games.
Afterwards we went to the 3rd and 4th classroom to do sewing with Mrs. Fahy, Mrs. Welhs and Mrs. O' Doherty. The children had great fun at sewing practice.
We also saw some vintage cars parked in the carpark and had a lovely school photo taken at the end of the day.
