On Wednesday 7th June we left Tankerstown NS at 9.30am and arrived at Parsons Green at 10am. We were met by Patsy who took us on a guided tour of the farm. Patsy told us a lot of interesting facts about the farm and animals as we walked around. The children had great fun looking at the animals and listening to Patsy.
We had great fun in the yard looking at all of the old farm equipment and some other small animals.
John took the children in groups on the horse and carriage. The children were delighted to meet and pet "Tyson" the horse. They liked telling Tyson to hurry up and to turn around!
John then took us all in groups on a boat ride around the lake and river. The children loved looking out for the crocodiles on the bank and we met a mother duck and her ducklings who followed us around the river.
After lunch the children had great fun in the outdoor play area using the zipline and slides.
Next stop was the Swiss Cottage in Cahir and the children loved looking at the rooms dating back hundreds of years and admiring the design of the house and gardens.
We left the Swiss Cottage and arrived back at school at 2.30pm. Thankfully a great day was had by all and the weather made it even more enjoyable.
